Current trends in marriage and cohabitation
Declining marriage rates have led many to conclude that Americans no longer place a high value on marriage. Although marriage is seen as somewhat less mandatory in modern society, the majority of people consider it important and plan to marry. Delayed marriage indicates not necessarily an indifference to marriage but perhaps even a heightened expectation of marriage (waiting to get it “just right”). |
